Madeline Capistran, Violin
Madeline holds a B.M. in performance from Michigan State University and a M.M. in performance from DePaul University, where she studied with Ilya Kaler. Madeline is currently freelancing and teaching in the Chicago area.

Jonathan Cegys, Bass
Jonathan was schooled in the art of Classical Double Bass in Toronto, Ontario in the North of Germany and in Chicago, Illinois. He was born inclined towards music and loves to play his stereo loudly when the neighbors are not home! He is married to a violinist and they sometimes play duets, only occasionally though!

Henry Chen, Bass
Henry is a native of Taiwan, Henry Chen has performed in more than 10 countries and won several competitions. He enjoys performing as soloist, as chamber musician, and in a large ensemble. Mr. Chen is currently enrolled in the School of Music of University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana for his DMA degree, under the instruction of Michael Cameron.

Ricardo Ferreira, Violin
Ricardo was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and started his music studies at Liberdade Baptist Church in Sao Paulo. He received his Bachelors degree from Sao Paulo State University and his Master’s from DePaul University, and is now currently working on a performance certificate at DePaul University studying with Olga Kaler. He is enrolled in Masterclasses with Erick Friedman and Boris Belki, is Concertmaster of Sao Paulo University Chamber Orchestra, and a member of Sao Paulo State Music School String Orchestra. Ricardo is also a prizewinner of the 1st National Competition for Young Interpreters of Brazilian Music.

Yuriy Geyer, Violin
Yuriy is winner of the national MTNA violin competition and the Bach Festival Society violin competition, currently teaches and freelances in Chicago. He has performed with the Florida Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic, South Bend Symphony, Illinois Philharmonic orchestras, and has been granted a fellowship from the Aspen Music Festival.

Derek Handley, Principal Cello
Derek has held the Associate Principal Cello position in the Peoria Symphony Orchestra (as well as Substitute Principal Cello for the Fall of 2009). He has had the honor of participating in the Aberdeen and Banff International Music Festivals, touring China on two separate occasions, and performing with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Wayne Shorter. Derek did his undergraduate studies (BM) at University of Southern California under the late Eleanore Schoenfeld, and is currently pursuing his Masters in Music at Northwestern University under Hans Jorgen Jensen.

Victoria Moreira, Principal Second Violin
Victoria earned her Bachelors degree in violin performance from Roosevelt University and earned her Masters degree from DePaul University. She is the principal second violinist of Oistrach Symphony since 2007. Aside from teaching, she is also an active performer in the classical and tango scenes.

Veronica Nettles, Cello
Veronica began her studies in upstate New York at age 9 and continued her education in both classical and jazz in the Greater Vancouver area, British Columbia. She received her Bachelors Degree in Cello Performance from the University of Toronto and her Masters in Cello Performance from DePaul University. Veronica currently teaches and freelances in Chicago.

Lindsey Smith, Viola
Lindsey earned a Bachelor of Music from Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in 2007. She is currently working to earn another Bachelor degree, this time in Performing Arts Management from DePaul University. When not studying, reading, or playing viola, Lindsey enjoys taking long walks with her dog, Zero.

Oana Tatu, Principal Violin
Oana has been studying music since she was eleven at Dinu Lipatti Music School in Bucharest, Romania, the University of Music in Bucharest, and Louisiana State University. In Chicago she studied at DePaul University with Rami Solomonow and earned her Masters Degree and Certificate in Performance. She is a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago playing under such world famous conductors as Pierre Boulez, Bernard Haitink and Kent Nagano, joined the Oistrach Symphony Orchestra in 2005, and has also performed with the Calisto Ensemble, Fifth House Ensemble, Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra and New Millennium Orchestra.

Marguerite Lynn Williams, Harp
Marguerite has performed professionally for over 15 years across the US and internationally for private events, and with prestigious ensembles including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra and Toronto Symphony. She attended the Eastman School of Music for her Bachelor of Music degree as well as Performer’s Certificate, and Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University for her Masters of Music Degree in Orchestral Studies.
